We are seeking to recruit a flexible and motivated part-time Library Assistant to work in the Bodleian Osney One Building at Osney Mead. You will be a member of the Collections and Resource Description (C&RD) section of Collections Management and carry out the physical processing and holdings processing (using Alma) of Bodleian Libraries and other Oxford University Libraries material, as well as stock relocation work when required.
The Collections and Resource Description (C&RD) department is responsible for collection development, acquisitions, cataloguing, serials, and electronic resources in the Bodleian Libraries. It also deals with legal deposit intake which forms a large percentage of the print collection.
You will have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability work co-operatively with colleagues in a team environment. You will have excellent attention to detail and a calm and methodical approach to work. Experience of working in an academic library is desirable.
This is a part-time, permanent role working 27.5 hours a week on the University pay scale of Grade 2. The working pattern to be agreed with the line manager on appointment.
