Join us in this customer focused role based as a Library Assistant in the St Peters House library team at the City campus.
In this role, you will spend part of your time at the busy Help Desk, assisting customers to access library services via library systems and online resources, dealing with returned and reserved books, answering general enquiries. Other regular duties will include routine tasks such as daily circulation and shelving of stock, involving physical work such as moving materials, boxes and trolleys in line with health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and appropriate study space.
To succeed in this dynamic environment, you will need to:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have good working knowledge of IT and current issues in library services.
- Have an interest in improving the student experience.

Unfortunately, due to current business requirements and the hours of the post, this role is not suitable for a job share arrangement.
This is a permanent post, 22 hours per week normally worked over three days (potentially Thurs/Fri/Mon), with occasional weekend working on rota, for which appropriate enhancements and time off in lieu is given. The hours are excluding meal breaks (these are unpaid). The working days may also include regular evening work (12-8pm).Interviews are expected to take place on 23rd February 2023.
