Librarian
Start date: 17th April 2023, or by negotiation
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year plus five additional days
8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am – 4.00pm Friday
Salary: Grade 8, Point 18 – 23, £23,619 - £26,043 pro-rata (£27,344 -£30,151 FTE)

Burford School Library provides a welcoming, inclusive learning environment that is central to the school, actively supporting teaching, learning, and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be responsible day to day for managing, developing and promoting the library and literacy.
You will have a love and enjoyment of reading and be able to enthuse students and support them with their reading. Duties will include overseeing the maintenance and use of the school library, facilitating library-based learning, and supporting the delivery of literacy interventions.
What we are looking for
In addition to your knowledge and passion for all things reading you will be able to demonstrate:
· Understanding of learning support and learning resources work/understanding of the value of libraries in the school environment
· Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills
· Effective organisational skills and attention to detail
· An ability to work with and manage larger groups as well as individual students
· Good computer literacy skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Willingness and ability to quickly learn new organisational and technical skills
· Good numeracy skills (i.e. for managing budget, reporting statistics, etc.)
