We have a requirement for an Assistant Project Engineer Apprentice to join our expanding Scottish regional office. JLES have recruited and developed over 20 apprentices in the past 15 years making us confident that we can offer you the correct and necessary support and skills. This role is predominantly associated with assisting the Engineering team in completing duties directly related to issues in the field. Your role will be split between site and office work and will provide you with varied day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Engineering team in reporting to the client.
- Assisting the team with key projects issues as directed by the Line Manager.
- Assist the Project Engineering team in the management of consultants and contractors.
- Site inspections with the Engineering team and adopting authority.
- Seeking quotations from Sub-Contractors.
- Cost analysis / Tender evaluation of Sub-contractors.
- Works under close supervision to achieve time, cost & quality in all assignments.
- Liaising and Managing Sub-contractors to complete works.
- Liaisons with various Local Authorities / Chasing Adoption Certification from Local Authorities.
- On-site supervision of Stage 3 site works.
- Flexible where possible in role & team contribution.
Environment and Working Hours
- The office is an open plan environment
- Company office hours are 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (4:30pm on Fridays)
Person Requirements:
- Math’s & English GCSE Grade 4 or above (preferably).
- Willing to learn about Project Engineering / Civil Engineering principles.
- Good communication skills.
- AutoCAD skills (not essential).
- Microsoft Office Competent.
