Job description
Equine apprentice available at a large Competition yard/ Sports Horse Stud and Training Centre with full training for Level 3 Senior Groom apprentice qualification.
This is a senior groom position so we are looking for applicants 18+ who have equine experience and are motivated to gain the qualifications needed to progress in the industry. It would also suit an older person who has the skills and experience but needs the qualification to progress.
Applicants can choose from Breeding or riding pathways, however whichever pathway you choose you will be involved in all aspects of the yard from foaling mares to backing and show preparation and everything else in between. A good level of riding is NOT essential for this position however there will be riding for applicants with a suitable level of riding This position is for someone who already has a grounding in all stable management and riding who wishes to progress in an environment which offers a lot of opportunities. Training on such a large diverse yard means that no two days are the same and gives you the experience and skills employers want. An excellent chance to get on the career ladder with good prospects within the business for progression.
The apprenticeship comes with a package of industry qualifications and can be done full or part time.
Own horse welcome and chance to compete
Apprenticeship wage applies however may vary for very experienced mature applicants
Requirements
Good all round horse experience required to be able to handle variety of horses, training will be given for any other skills required.
