Job Description Summary

Pricing underpins margin management of BCB’s lending products and plays an integral role in delivery of our financial commitments. The pricing team own the pricing strategy and commercial management aspects. The role involves understanding and optimising Lending profitability by developing and improving Profitability models, reporting and analysing margin performance and developing pricing strategies for small business customers.
Job Description
The Pricing Associate Director will work closely with a wide range of partners from Finance, Distribution Channel, Platform, Credit Risk & Portfolio Analytics teams to build robust pricing and profitability capability as well as draw up effective proposals to share with Head of and Senior Product managers. You'll also be responsible for ensuring we adhere to all risk controls applicable to pricing, including regulatory compliance with CMA. This will be an excellent opportunity for you if you’re keen to broaden your product knowledge, and further develop your technical capabilities.
Location & ways of working
Our team is based across our London, Bristol, Birmingham and Edinburgh hubs therefore we'll need you to be based a commutable distance from one of these areas. We work in a hybrid model, splitting our time between the office and working from home.
As a Pricing Associate Director, you’ll:
Support internal customers to ensure their needs are met
Analyse key themes using data from a range of sources and identify possible impacts on the business
Own margin management for Business banking and take corrective actions where needed
Lead price change projects
Write and edit material for a variety of partners, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectation of each audience
Support development and delivery of plans for financial management and risk controls from a pricing perspective
Identify short comings, then suggest and implement improvements to business practices
Understand internal risk controls as well as external regulations to ensure as a division we always adhere to these requirements
Essential skills:
We’re looking for a Pricing professional who is passionate about data; It’s essential that you have a strong numerical background and good attention to detail.
You should have the ability to understand financial concepts (e.g. margins, returns, capital etc), identify performance trends and translate them into practical pricing strategies that are in line with our strategic objectives.
You’ll also need to have a commercial and strategic attitude.
You should be able to provide analytical solutions to business objectives and problems.
Desirable: Having a Financial Services/ Lending background is preferred but not essential, however having a sound understanding and/or interest in Business banking and a desire to apply and grow your technical skills with us, will be.

Alongside a competitive salary (advertised range is for London, for Birmingham/Edinburgh/Bristol: £52,245 - £58,050) you'll receive;
