We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative, conscientious Technical Consultant Legionella Risk Assessor to join our Risk Assessment team. The role is key to the delivery of high quality, professional Risk Assessment services to our clients with the opportunity to engage with City & Guilds training delivery and Industrial Consultancy services, up to and including Authorising Engineer services, where required. This role is based in Scotland, supporting clients or employees across Scotland and North England from our Glasgow office.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Execute on-site work in conjunction with SMS Method Statements
- Enforce Health & Safety practise on-site
- Problem solving /Diagnosing faults within Plumbing Systems
- Execute work in conjunction with IT Systems
- The Risk Assessment of hot and cold water systems within various types of buildings (including Spa and Cooling towers if competent to do so)
- Carry out Risk Assessments to UKAS 17020 standards, ACoP L8, BS 8580, MS80 and any appropriate method statement
- Assist with maintenance work where no conflict of interest arises
- Collaborate with Schematic Coordinator, Formatter and Assurance Officer and Supervisor to ensure Risk Assessments are accurate and of high quality
- Deliver C&G assured training to SMS clients and staff
- Provide consultancy services to SMS clients and Account Managers, producing detailed written reports of findings and recommendations.
Your key skills and experience:
- Comprehensive experience of the Water Hygiene industry
- Extensive Risk Assessment experience across a variety of sites, including Healthcare settings
- Carrying out competency checks and risk assessment re-inspections
- Delivering Legionella Consultancy Services to clients
- Effective communications and excellent communication skills
- Technical knowledge of the Water Treatment industry
- EHS Training, Knowledge and Skills
- BSc Hons is a related field is desirable
- Legionella Risk Assessor qualification from a recognised UK professional body is advantageous
This role involves regular travel to customer sites so a valid UK Driving licence is essential.
Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK.
All roles at SMS require a DBS check; SMS Environmental will cover the cost of this if you do not already hold a valid DBS certificate.
