About the role and our team
We are looking to recruit a proactive and committed Legal Officer to join our small and supportive team within the General Registry (Isle of Man Courts and Tribunal Service).
This is a unique role, which offers real variety - you will have the opportunity to work across the range of summary courts and gain a broad level of experience.
Your main role will be to administer and act as principal legal adviser to the Magistrates’ adult and juvenile courts and to provide legal advice where appropriate to the Chief Registrar and staff of the General Registry.
You will contribute to the smooth and effective operation of the courts of summary jurisdiction in conjunction with the High Bailiff and Deputy High Bailiffs.
Justice provision in many jurisdictions is in the process of review and modernisation and the Isle of Man is no exception to that. As a result, this is an exciting and opportunistic time to join us and be involved in shaping the future in that area.
