Legal Officer – Community
Legal & Governance
Salary up to £42,795pa
We are looking for a Legal Officer to join our Community Team. Whilst you will be employed by Havering this job is currently based in Newham Dockside and you must be willing to travel to other offices when necessary. Currently attendance at the office is only required once every two weeks although this could change in future.
The role is to assist Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in the provision of high quality, solution focused legal work to clients in the two Councils. You will provide legal and administrative support across the Community Team primarily on Child Protection litigation.

About You
The successful candidate will hold a legal qualification up to degree level or have relevant equivalent work experience in a legal practice relating to Children’s Service legal work.
You will be a team player, highly motivated and resilient. You will be confident, able to act independently and use your initiative when appropriate to ensure client’s interests are protected. Local Government experience is desirable.
