Job description

The role

The Revenue team produces circa 12,000 invoices per year with an increasing number of those via a variety of e-billing systems. eBills are already approximately 20% of all invoices produced and 10% of our annual revenue. The e-biller will be accountable for timely and accurate production of all e-bills, working closely with the revenue controllers and assistants who are the key fee earner contact for matters of a financial nature.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for submitting invoices to various eBilling systems, reviewing, and solving of rejections, client and timekeeper setups, client accruals, generating draft bills, producing final bills in required LEDES formats and creating supporting schedules across the firm’s 12 practice areas. The eBiller will also play a key role in ensuring timely collections against the firm’s eBills.

Duties will include:

  • dealing with all aspects of the processing of eBills and collecting in payments;
  • prepare, process and upload electronic invoices to clients via various e-billing systems, understanding the specific requirements of each;
  • investigating and resolving all client eBilling system queries and bill rejections, including resolution of technical queries directly with client’s eBilling support teams;
  • creating and maintaining timekeeper, matter, rates and invoice data held within eBilling systems;
  • production of client accruals for eBilling requirement;
  • attentively ensure that all relevant information relating to eBills is recorded in our collection notes;
  • train new team members on eBilling processes, as required;
  • keep revenue manager informed of all issues and concerns; and
  • establish a successful working relationship with the revenue team and wider finance team.

The candidate

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:

  • 4+ years’ experience as eBiller in the legal sector;
  • knowledge of microsoft word, outlook, excel, e-billing systems (e.g. serengeti, TyMetix, CSC, counselLink, collaborati);
  • aderant and billblast experience desirable;
  • a high level of numeracy is required together with a good understanding of financial workings;
  • ability to interact effectively with people of all levels of the firm and demonstrate their ability to develop relationships with all types of clients (internal and external);
  • demonstrate a clear track record of commitment to the highest level of customer service;
  • a self-starter who can set and achieve goals; has a keen eye for detail and the ability to act positively, creatively and intuitively when presented with challenges;
  • an excellent team player who has the ability to work independently; and
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The team

The Revenue team consists of seven revenue controllers, six revenue assistants all reporting to the revenue manager.
