About the Role
Uber is changing the world, and Uber's London based legal team is proud to be part of that. We're looking for an exceptional lawyer to handle an array of commercial, product and corporate matters, as well as counsel the business on critical legal and strategic matters. This position will report to the Legal Director, Commercial and is based in the London office.
This is a rare opportunity for a lawyer to join an innovative and exciting technology company and gain substantive, hands-on experience with business clients and external partners.
What You'll Do
- Play an integral part in the phenomenal growth of Uber Eats and advise on the development and launch of new products and solutions to eaters, couriers, and restaurants as well as advise the new verticals team on new retail product offerings.
- Be part of the incredible growth story of Uber advising across both the Delivery and Mobility business in a high growth market and have the opportunity to develop strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across the business and the wider legal team and work on a wide range of fast-paced, high impact, and high profile commercial, product and corporate matters;
- Be an active partner and leader to the business to ensure the provision of timely business-focused advice to a variety of business areas across our Mobility and Delivery businesses;
- Working on engaging, hands-on work, tackling novel legal issues and commercial contracts, partnership agreements, technology agreements, promotional agreements, sponsorships, partnerships, as well as general procurement and marketing and advertising initiatives;
- Drive legal strategies and new products with cross-functional partners, including Operations, Policy, Safety, Product, and Insurance teams at Uber to develop creative and proactive legal solutions on first-of-its-kind legal issues and achieve ambitious operational goals for the business;
- Work collaboratively with other teams including employment, tax, policy and communications to provide strategic advice to the business;
- Understand, interpret and apply current laws and regulations as applicable to Uber’s business models in the region and your areas of responsibility;
- Work hard but have a lot of fun doing it!
Qualifications
- UK or Commonwealth qualified
- Post-qualification experience at a top-notch law firm or in-house
- Strong academic credentials and law degree from a top law school or university
- Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to operate in a fast paced environment
- Outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills
- Collaborative approach with both business and legal groups, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility and partner with others.
- Thrive in high impact/high profile situations
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Any other relevant languages are an advantage too.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
