About The Role
This legal counsel role is to support FDM’s growing UK and European business operations and will report to the Regional General Counsel-EMEA.
In order to be successful for this position you must be commercially aware with the ability to make the right decisions for the company taking into account both legal and commercial factors. Ideally, you will have proven legal experience with commercial contracts and data protection and privacy law. Whilst not essential, previous experience of working in an in-house environment and/or experience in providing legal advice to European businesses is desirable.
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements; provide advice to relevant stakeholders as to the risks associated with various contractual provisions
- Provide advice on data protection and privacy matters and work with other departments on compliance
- Research applicable legal issues affecting the company in both the UK and Europe and provide advice to managers and directors
- Prepare training materials and support with the provision of training sessions as required to internal employee groups to ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including FDM Managers and Directors, on relevant issues
- Carry out other duties as reasonably required
About You
- UK qualified Solicitor who holds a current practising certificate with 4+ years PQE
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Business acumen, determination and go-getter attitude
- Experience working in an In-House Legal role
- Experience of data and privacy law issues
