We have an exciting opportunity for Legal Counsel to join our well respected in house legal team. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be based in our Maidenhead office 2 days a week.

About the role
You will be a member of the legal & company secretarial team. The team provides strategic legal advice, governance support and compliance expertise to the Group. You will work across both the Transportation and Natural Resources divisions
Key responsibilities
- Legal input into the review and development of client contracts across both divisions in collaboration with the commercial and work winning teams
- Reviewing and developing a broad range of commercial contracts including partnership agreements, software licences and service agreements, secondment agreements and other general commercial agreements
- Discussing and negotiating with clients and suppliers to develop and agree contracts
- Working with the divisional legal leads to ensure adequate policies, procedures and processes are in place to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, in particular data privacy issues
- Providing advice and support in relation to the identification and protection of intellectual property rights
About you
- UK qualified solicitor, educated to degree level: with 2-4 years PQE (flexible)
- Transactional commercial experience (preferably with some exposure to public sector clients)
- Strong technical skills in contract drafting, negotiation and data privacy issues
- Commercially astute with a strong business acumen
- Ability to present key messages/complex matters in a clear, concise and engaging manner. Strong communication (written and verbal), facilitation and decision-making skills
- Proactive self-starter who is highly organised and able to handle many ongoing and changing priorities without impact on outputs
- Can work independently as well as part of a team
