We are currently seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier to join our accomplished finance team. Responsibilities:


  • Daily Bank Reconciliations: Manage daily bank reconciliations for both Client and Office accounts.
  • Receipt Allocation: Identify and allocate all office and client receipts accurately.
  • Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices and expenses onto Sage, and conduct monthly supplier reconciliations.
  • Staff Expenses: Handle the processing of staff expenses.
  • Counsel Fees and Disbursements: Review, post, and reconcile counsel fees and other anticipated disbursements.
  • Billing: Handle the billing of disbursements and fees.
  • Medical Reconciliation: Perform weekly and monthly medical reconciliation and follow-up.
  • Monthly Reporting: Generate monthly nominal reports for the Legal Director.
  • Client Queries: Address general case-related queries and issues.
  • SRA Audit: Assist with the SRA audit conducted by external auditors.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Tackle ad hoc duties as required, which may include monitoring the inbox, daily banking, supporting file handlers, and contributing to the annual audit process.

Candidate Profile:


  • Finance Experience: Previous experience working in a finance department.
  • Legal Practice Knowledge: Experience in a similar role within a legal practice is ideal.
  • Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of SARs and VAT compliance is advantageous.
  • Time Management: Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Multi-Tasking: Capability to multi-task and handle interruptions effectively.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive: Proactive and capable of using initiative.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Sage Software: Experience with Sage Software is a plus.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals at all levels of seniority.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of Microsoft packages.
