Role purpose
As a Legal Assistant you will be working in a demanding environment where your quick thinking, strong work ethic, attention to detail and accuracy are vital attributes.
The Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department is a growing team and is looking for a Legal Assistant to provide support. You will need to develop a broad understanding of legal matters, client requests and the demands of your team often connected to sensitive or complex issues. You will be expected to record your time and accordingly will have a target.
Key responsibilities
In line with policies and procedures key responsibilities include:
Legal skills
· Assisting in the collation of bundles
· Assisting with finance process and closure of files
· Organising radiology
· Collation and sorting documents
· Calculating expenses
· Typing up notes from conference meetings
· Researching experts
· Chasing medical records
· Organising conferences with Counsel
· General file administration, including inputting new cases, setting up files and Welcome pack production
Person specification
· Personal effectiveness and self-management
· Good communication, organisational and team skills
· Good attention to detail
· Flexible and dependable, able to take the initiative
· Able to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
· Conscientious, approachable and enthusiastic
· Able to quickly build confidence, respect and trust with others
Technical knowledge
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
