Our team is currently seeking an energetic and proactive go-getter to fulfill the dynamic duties of legal assistant and office manager at the Richmond office, located right across Brighouse Skytrain station.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks while efficiently running the office;
- Opening and closing client matters, including updating matters in Law Practice Management cloud-based software;
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, precedents and maintaining database;
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel; assist clients with contact queries; prepare and issue invoices;
- Assist lawyers as needed including keeping calendars, attendance at client meetings, investigations, mediations;
- Supporting litigation including drafting related documents and filing documents in Court;
- Organizing and setting meetings with clients, opposing counsel and setting dates for mediations, trial dates, hearings, discovery and other meetings;
- Set up and maintain professional office space;
- Maintain the highest ethics and ensure confidentiality;
- Attend social, promotional events on behalf of the firm;
- Social media and website updating and management as needed; and
- Other duties.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year litigation LAA experience at a BC law firm and/or BC LAA Certificate;
- Excellent client management skills;
- Experience in workplace law is an asset, as well as in mediation preparation and workplace investigations;
- Working knowledge of litigation procedures in both Supreme and Provincial courts;
- Working knowledge of BC Court Services Online, filing and conducting searches;
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills;
- Detail-oriented and efficient;
- Tech savvy;
- Ability to manage multiple schedules and stay organized; and
- An endless desire to learn and grow!

- BC Legal Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

- BC LAA Certificate or Diploma (preferred)
