Legal Assistant - Litigation Team
Salary: Band: 8, £32,020 - £34,722
37 Hours per week
DBS Disclosure at Standard level will be required prior to any offer of employment and this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Your New Role
Working closely with a range of departments of both Portsmouth City Council and Gosport Borough Council (there is a shared Legal practice), you will provide quality advice and support. You will assist the Litigation team by drafting a range of legal documents related to all areas of Court work and will conduct legal research in a variety of areas. You will liaise with Courts, Tribunals, Counsel's chambers, external legal representatives and assist with progressing cases through Curt and dealing with general queries across a wide range of issues. You will assist colleagues and develop your knowledge in all areas of litigation and you may have your own case load and the opportunity to undertake advocacy in Court.
W hat you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of administrative tasks with an ability to carry out legal research whilst assisting as part to a team as required. You will be organised with a good attention to detail and be able to priorities whilst having an interest in developing inter-disciplinary legal skills. An excellent communicator with the ability to engage and develop relationships, you will have an excellent standard of literacy with the ability to draft legal documents, with support and correspondence to a professional standard.
