MG Legal are looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to join our expanding Property Department. Previous legal experience, working in residential property, is essential. Salary is highly competitive.

Required qualifications, skills and experience
- Experience working in residential conveyancing.
- Computer and typing skills to a good standard.
- An ability to follow instructions from fee earners and other staff members.
- Able to use initiative when completing tasks and managing their own assigned workload.
- Confident and a good manner with clients.
- Excellent attention to detail, with impeccable grammar/written communication skills.
- A team player, that wants to be part of our great team of people.
- Full Driving Licence.
Role
The prime role of the legal assistant is to provide direct support to Property Solicitors and other staff members within the Property Department, including but not limited to, the specific duties below. The role requires a degree of efficient self-management of time and workload, and an ability to communicate effectively with others. The position will also require liaison with other departments, including transferring telephone calls and ensuring post is directed to the relevant persons.
Main responsibilities/Duties
- The preparation of client care documentation and other correspondence, at the direction of the fee earners and using own initiative.
- Developing relationships with clients and familiarity with client matters and property department procedures.
- Drafting of correspondence, pertinent to the conveyancing procedure. This may be via dictation, where required.
- Use of Microsoft and our bespoke case management software (training will be provided for bespoke software).
- The maintenance of diaries, including managing appointments and diarising key dates/deadlines on client’s matters.
- Providing support to the property department and other departments, if required
- Answering telephone calls, with successful communication of telephone messages to the relevant persons including transferring calls between departments and offices.
- Opening, scanning and forwarding post, as necessary.
- Greeting clients for appointments.
- A knowledge of the conveyancing lender portals - Lender Exchange & LMS.
- Promoting the reputability of MG Legal.
Schedule
- 9am to 5pm (with an hour for lunch), Monday to Friday.
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
