Ishida Europe is a World leader in the design, manufacture and installation of complete weighing and packing line solutions. We currently have an exciting opportunity for aLegal Assistant to join the Legal Team in Woodgate, Birmingham.
Main Purpose of the role
The Legal Team’s ultimate goal is to support and protect the business from risk, whilst taking a pragmatic and commercial approach.
The Legal Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the Company (across EMEA) has access to high-quality, reliable, accurate and commercially focused legal advice in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities
The below list is comprehensive but not exhaustive. The Legal Team remains relatively small and hence we are looking for applicants who are willing and able to get involved in all aspects.
- To provide support in an efficient and professional manner through the timely and accurate processing of enquiries, requests and gathering of information.
- Review commercial agreements, and supporting with commercial negotiations where required on a variety of contracts within the EMEA region, including:Customer Sale and Purchase Agreements;
One-off Supplier Agreements and Supplier Framework Agreements;
Intercompany Agreements;
Equipment Loan and Rental Agreements;
Confidentiality Agreements/NDAs;
- To track, coordinate and progress all matters to successful completion throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Advise on the Company’s legal position and the principal contractual risks, assisting with risk assessments and risk scoring, and understanding the international perspective of contracts where applicable.
- Ensure that the Company works within the Contract Liability Policy (or with relevant exceptions & approvals) at all times and coordinating and capturing all approvals accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with contract forecasting to actively manage and predict workloads.
- Perform general administrative duties including contract bundling, coordinating contract signatures, archiving, filing, and drafting of letters or communication.
- Assist with regulatory and compliance matters of the Company.
- Perform in-depth research on specific points of law pertinent to the Company.
- Support with the completion of internal Company audits where requested.
· Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders and supporting key business functions and maintain a high level of effective communication at all levels.
What skills are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will be a law graduate who has the desire to learn and shape their career within an in-house legal function, and has the ability to pick up new concepts easily. You will be customer focused, have high levels of organisation, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
You will be a team player, willing to support not only the Legal Team but also the wider Ishida team. You must have excellent attention to detail, good knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Salary: Up to £23,000.00 per year
