We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to assist with a large caseload of Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) cases. The role will be to work under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements. To accept delegated tasks as directed.
Applications are welcome from candidates with experience working within the Personal Injury arena, preferably with experience AFCS work.
We offer flexible hybrid working from home and from our work hub based at our offices in Wilmslow.
Full training will be given.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing AFCS
- Pursuing AFCS cases at all stages
- Providing a high standard of client care
- Ability to identify and assess injuries
- Drafting statements and chronologies
- Reviewing and summarising medical and personnel records
- File maintenance
- Preparing letters, statements
- Facilitating high volumes of documents
- Handling of confidential documents and preparing files
- High quality client care
- Maintaining good relationships with work providers
- Research
- Liaison with provider of Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
- Dealing with correspondence and telephone enquiries
- Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel requirements.
- Managing a Proclaim task list in a timely manner
- Accurate time recording.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Ability to communicate with clients professionally and accurately regarding their claims
· Excellent client care skills to include a good telephone manner
· Good file maintenance, audit results
· Ability to retain information and cross reference it
· Good track record in current work, i.e. Audits, tasks lists, activity levels
· Ability to risk assess
· Good case management skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
· Experience in using Proclaim is preferable but not necessary
