Legal Assistant
BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited offers comprehensive operations and maintenance services to solar energy plants and wind plants across the UK and Ireland. About the role
BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited – a subsidiary of BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH – is responsible for the operations management of wind energy projects and the operation and maintenance of solar PV plants all over UK and Ireland. We are currently looking for a Legal Assistant.
This role can be based in either our Edinburgh or Milton Keynes offices.
What You Will Do
- Drafting and review of contracts with customers (wind OM, solar PV O&M, EPC, asset management, ad hoc work and services) and the company’s subcontractors and suppliers;
- Co-ordinating all legal matters and commercial disputes arising under the company’s commercial contracts.
- Assistance with all legal and compliance matters in tender processes;
- Generally ensuring the legal rigour of all contracts, T&Cs;
- Coordinating compliance with BayWa r.e. group on the instruction of the Managing Directors, corporate governance requirements for the company, and delivering the required BayWa r.e. group legal and compliance reporting for the entity.
What You Bring
- Training will be available to the right candidate but experience in a similar role such as paralegal in a law firm or within industry, would be beneficial;
- Experience in commercial law and general commercial contracting;
- Previous experience or knowledge of renewable energy projects preferred but not essential;
- Shows a keen understanding of the company's needs and seeks to tailor advice appropriately.
- Takes responsibility for coordinating on legal aspects of transactions;
- Working knowledge of corporate law;
- Good negotiator and team player.
- Outstanding attention to detail;
- Ability to identify legal matters outside own area of legal expertise and escalate as appropriate;
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively manage a range of competing priorities and meet deadlines.
