SOGICA is currently seeking a Legal Advisor. Reporting to the Senior Director (or President), the Legal Advisor will be responsible for the preparation and negotiation of legal documents related to client agreements.

Responsibilities :
- Provide general in-house legal support to the company.
- Perform negotiations, drafting, amendments to a variety of client agreements, including confidentiality agreements, engagement agreements, letters of intent.
- Ensure legal documents are in compliance with company policies, procedures and strategies and are signed by authorized signatories.
- Support the business development team in responding to RFPs.
- Prepare negotiation guidelines and contract types ready for use.
- Build strong and positive relationships at all levels of the company to support business needs.
- Provide legal support to all departments, such as business development, compliance, finance and HR.
- Interact regularly with outside counsel regarding legal matters and manage communication and coordination of files.
- Support the management team in acquisitions, financing, corporate reorganizations and policy implementation.
- Communicate with clients and their professionals.
- Plan, organize and participate in consultations and meetings with clients and other industry professionals.
- Organize and maintain documentation and records.
- Protect the company's rights of privilege throughout Canada and the United States.
- Handle occasional litigation.
- Any other related task.
Requirements:
- University degree in an appropriate discipline
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the relevant field, preferably as an in-house lawyer
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, negotiation and contract drafting
- Experience with government contracts is an important asset
- Experience in customer relations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented with exceptional documentation, writing and negotiation skills
- Bilingualism, both spoken and written
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
