Job Title: Legal Administrator / Barristers' Clerk
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Covent Garden, London + Work From Home

We provide advice and representation directly to members of the public and other legal representatives. Our clients include individuals and businesses, both within the UK and overseas.
We’re currently recruiting for a talented and committed legal administrator / barristers’ clerk to join our dedicated team of administration and business service professionals.
The Position
This is an exciting opportunity for an established legal administrator seeking a career move to a forward-thinking and non-traditional law firm. The role would also be suitable for an individual who is interested in pursuing a career in law firm administration, since full training will be provided.
As a key member of our administration team you will work under the supervision and guidance of our Senior Chambers Administrator to oversee the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of chambers. You will work with partners, barristers and other team members on a variety of key administrative tasks.
Principal Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Answering and directing telephone calls.
- Handling new enquiries and assigning to practise teams.
- Issuing client engagement letters.
- Issuing invoices and monitoring fee receipts.
- Entering key dates into diaries.
- Booking in-person and remote conferences and managing the use of conference rooms.
- Preparing conference rooms, meeting and greeting clients and serving refreshments.
- Printing, scanning, photocopying and filing legal documents.
- Electronically assembling and indexing bundles.
- Collecting, logging and distributing incoming post.
- Arranging couriers and dispatching outgoing post.
- Uploading content to chambers’ knowledge centre and social media.
- Assisting with the general administration of chambers as directed.
Qualifications
- Educated to at least A-level (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience of working in an office environment preferred.
Skills and Experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with others and alone.
- Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining the highest standards.
- Willingness to undertake all tasks required by the role with a positive ‘can do’ approach.
- Ability to use initiative to prioritise workloads in a fast paced office environment.
- Clear speaking voice and a warm personality.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and personal integrity in all aspects of work.
- Excellent work ethic and commitment to a career in administration.
Hours
Working hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Location
This is a hybrid role. Our Legal Administrators are primarily based in our modern office, located right in the heart of Covent Garden, London. There will be some opportunities for remote working on successful completion of an initial 3-month probation period.

Compensation packages can be tailored to individual needs and circumstances, but our Chambers Administrators typically enjoy the following:
- A starting salary of £22,500 to £27,500 per annum (depending on experience) paid monthly;
- 20 days paid holiday, increasing by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days (plus bank holidays);
