Lecturers in Management

Lecturers in Management London, England

University of Westminster
Full Time London, England 43611 - 48433 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

There are a number of posts available that are full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. Posts can be considered on a part-time / job share basis.

These posts sit within the Westminster Business School in the School of Management and Marketing. You will become part of a community of around 65 full time and 35 freelance academic staff and 2,400+ students with a shared focus on business management, sustainability, marketing, sports, marketing communications and digital marketing in an international context. You will be based at the University’s Marylebone site, opposite Baker Street Station, centrally located and immersed in London’s business community.

The School is now initiating a largescale academic recruitment exercise for thirteen full time equivalent lecturer level posts. These roles will support growth and capacity development in Learning & Teaching, Student Experience, Placements, Partnerships and Research.

We are looking to add to the team a mix of practitioners who operate between practice and academia as well as colleagues from typical academic backgrounds. Applications are invited for Lecturers in Management in the following areas:

Management
Sustainable Business Management
Business Psychology

We expect applicants to be able to teach across general management and/or marketing core courses at UG and PG levels. The areas outlined should guide applications, but we recognise that offers will be made based on those who are appointable and are the best fit.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience and enthusiasm for technology-enhanced learning practices. Successful candidates will also benefit from our in-house bespoke teaching training programme.

You will be expected to work closely with Course Leaders, Module Leaders and other members of the course team. You will contribute to the development of teaching materials, methods and assessments as well as leading modules yourself. Duties will include marking and giving feedback, acting as a personal tutor and mentor and providing pastoral support to students. You will also be expected to engage in subject, professional or pedagogic research or other scholarly activities to support your teaching.

With Professorial and soon Reader leadership in place, the School of Management and Marketing has ambitions to transform its current standing in the next REF exercise. The School is research active and increasingly will be so. The School Director of Research is leading on a 5 year Research & Knowledge Exchange plan that will extend the School into the wider London Business community. 3* and above publications have been rising year on year.

From the overall recruitment to the School, we would expect to appoint at least three lecturers with strong research profiles, in particular projects completed within industry.

If you would like to have a discussion about these roles, do reach out to:
Dr. Antonius Raghubansie, Head of School ([email protected]), Dr. Richard Berry, Assistant Head of School (Marketing) ([email protected]), Mrs. Anne Barker, Assistant Head of School, (Management) ([email protected])
