The University of Worcester seeks to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Mental Health Practitioner/Lecturer to join the Department of Health and Well-being. The successful candidate will have worked with and supported Children and Young People to improve and maintain their well-being. The successful candidate will join a multi-professional team working collaboratively with colleagues across the School and the wider University. The School upholds the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities, promoting academic enquiry and the advancement of knowledge.

We are encouraging applications for this role from practitioners with varied professional experience and practice supporting mental health issues and conditions impacting children and young people.

About you:

  • You will have experience in teaching theory and skills related to your own practice in children and young peoples’ mental health including supporting individuals and their family to maintain/improve mental health and well-being in universal settings.
  • Hold relevant qualification(s), preferably to include some post-graduate study
  • Have experience of inter professional working and ability to design and deliver CPD activities related to CYP mental health and well-being.
  • Have experience of supporting learners in a practice and/or university setting
  • An interest in research and scholarly activity
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be passionate about children and young peoples’ well-being.

From 1 August 2023, the salary range for this role will increase to Lecturer band AC2 £37,100 - £41,732, with the opportunity to progress to £45,585 and Senior Lecturer band AC3 £42,978 - £54,395, with the opportunity to progress to £59,422.
