About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Primary and Childhood Education (Foundation Subject) to join the Primary and Childhood Education Department within the Faculty of Education. The department is at an exciting stage. We have recruited a number of early career academics and many of our academics are research active. We are using a variety of innovative approaches to support trainee teachers to develop their knowledge of teaching. We are one of the largest teacher education departments in the UK.
You will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our Primary Foundation Subjects teacher education programmes, contributing to the delivery of our modules on Primary Foundation Subjects and other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience. We would particularly welcome candidates who could teach one or more of our teacher education programmes, and candidates who can offer one or more of the following specialisms: PSHE / PE / Primary Languages / Geography / History / Learning Outside the Classroom. About You
As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Primary and Childhood Education (Foundation Subjects), you will be someone with energy, drive, andenthusiasm for educating and training our next generation of teachers. You will be prepared to teach across a broad range of subjects and can work efficiently and at a high level.
You should have recent, relevant experience working as a teacher in primary schools. You should also have previous experience of leading a foundation subject in schools and of working with ITT students.
To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice.
