The Department of Engineering and Mathematics is home to over 100 academic staff, with students and their experience at the forefront of what we do. We place equal emphasis on teaching and research, be it subject or pedagogic research to transform lives. Our portfolio covers Maths, Physics and a broad range of Engineering disciplines.
The Department is arranged into a number of subject groups responsible for developing and delivering their relevant subject areas and courses. The Department benefits from strong industry partners; we work with a number of leading organisations including JCB, Kimberly Clark, AMEY Rail and Network Rail to provide applied learning opportunities for our students and jobs for our graduates. Our graduates perform well in the labour market with 89% in work or further study and 72% in highly skilled employment.
For this post, we are looking to recruit three academics to our Future Transportation Subject Group as we seek to grow our Automotive Engineering and Aerospace Engineering provision. The successful applicants will have knowledge and expertise in a discipline relevant to these fields of engineering, developed and sustained through academic and/or industrial experience. They will have the ability to create and deliver engaging and transformative learning and teaching experiences, as well maintaining currency in their subject area through research, consultancy and knowledge exchange activities.
- Lecturers are appointed at Grade 7, £37,386 to £41,931 dependent on experience.
- Senior Lecturers are appointed at Grade 8, £43,155 to £54,421 dependent on experience.

As well as 35 days annual leave and the eight standard UK bank holidays, you also get up to six extra days each year for extended University closure around some UK public/holidays.
