The Team
Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is part of the School of Education, Language and Psychology. Within ITE we offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes - a three year BA Primary Education programme, a one year PGCE Primary programme (both university centred and School Direct) and a one year PGCE Secondary School Direct programme in a range of subject areas. Partnership and collaboration are at the heart of our ITE programmes and we work with a broad range of partners/schools across the region. Our partnership is highly regarded across the region with many of our student teachers employed in local and regional schools.
Required Skills and Experience
We are seeking an enthusiastic part time Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education. Primary and/or Secondary school experience necessary alongside experience of mentoring in either a school or ITE setting.
It is essential that applicants possess a combination of both professional and academic qualifications. The post holder should therefore have qualified teacher status (QTS) and school teaching experience. The ability to support teaching in subject areas or wider Professional Studies, would be welcome.
The majority of your work will involve teaching in a variety of settings, including small group tutorials/seminars and lectures; assessment; and the provision of pastoral and academic support to students. Your work will also involve some link tutoring and liaison with our partnership schools.
For applicants not currently in possession of a doctoral qualification there will be a clear expectation to work towards such from commencing employment.
