Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Marketing (Fixed-Term). The post is in place from 1 September 2023 to 30 April 2024 with a flexible arrangement 0.7-1.0 FTE. The role holder will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate marketing modules associated mainly with our BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing and our MSc Consumer Behaviour. The role holder is also expected to hold the Programme directorship of our BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing.
The appointee will join the Agri-Food Economics & Marketing Department which sits within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD) of the University of Reading. The School is global in its outlook and has an international reputation for both teaching and research. It was recently ranked 16th in the World QS subject rankings for Agriculture and Forestry in 2023. The School has an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research. Within the University of Reading, SAPD has strong links with the Henley Business School and the Departments of Economics, Geography & Environmental Science and Food & Nutritional Sciences. The appointee will be expected to engage with other relevant groupings both within the University (e.g. the Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health). Main duties and responsibilities
- Deliver teaching of the highest quality across a range of modules and levels in the area of marketing, including business and marketing, and marketing management and strategy.
- Lead the BSc in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing as Programme Director
- Set, mark and assess student coursework and examinations and provide timely and useful feedback to students
- To supervise short term research projects by taught undergraduate and postgraduate students
