Full-Time, Permanent
The Department of Digital Innovation and Management is seeking to appoint an outstanding Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The transformative potential arising from the digitisation and automation of logistics and supply chain management is significant from a business perspective and central to the departmental and College strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to join leading international scholars in the areas of Digital Innovation and Management. The Department has a highly collegial ethos and has been successful in gaining substantial research funding. We are committed to multidisciplinary research activities, exploiting technology and our transition to a digital and data driven sustainable society and are looking for an enthusiastic, high-quality researcher to strengthen our challenge-led research and associated funding bids.
The successful candidate will undertake research and scholarship of international excellence and contribute to knowledge exchange activities in, but not limited to, some of the following areas: logistics, operational research, supply chain management, supply chain analytics and their application and interpretation for innovation and organisational change. We welcome candidates who wish to make an impact to the subject area through research, teaching and knowledge transfer activities. You will contribute to teaching and research supervision on a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
You will hold a PhD and have a developing track record of good quality research publications related to logistics, operational research, supply chain management and/or supply chain analytics – demonstrating the ability to harness and exchange knowledge to improve the procurement, processing and distribution of goods and services. Evidence of the ability to develop relevant funding applications and an emerging track record of success is highly desirable. Membership of an appropriate professional body would also be an advantage (e.g., Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport).
From a teaching perspective, we are looking for an inspirational lecturer who is passionate about teaching and learning, to prepare students for the changing digital world. You will have the demonstrable ability to teach and assess topics associated with the subject area at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. You will have a strong commitment to delivering excellent teaching and be able to work flexibly as part of a team in the delivery of teaching and assessment.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
