The School is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Human Nutrition for a fixed term position (maternity cover). You will be a Registered Nutritionist and contribute to nutrition teaching across the range of our programmes including the BSc (Hons) Nutrition, Exercise and Health programme (AfN AC236) and MSc Human Nutrition (AfN AC281). Your enthusiasm for your subject will extend to providing excellent teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, informed by your own research or professional experience. You will benefit from a positive and collegiate working environment that values and promotes excellence in all academic activities.


You will work with staff from across the School and Faculty in Biomedical Sciences and Dietetics. You will have access to well resourced laboratories for product development, chemical analysis, assessment of nutritional status and exercise testing. You will actively contribute to aspects of a university academic position, including teaching, assessment, pastoral support and academic management within the School.


You should be able to provide evidence of a strong motivation towards the delivery of high quality teaching and maintaining the Association for Nutrition core competencies and professional values. This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis to cover a period of maternity leave expected to last 9 months from August 2023. Job share may be considered.
