Lecturer in Education
Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Education (full time) to join a highly successful research and teaching group located in the well-established Department of Educational Studies. The post reflects the Department’s commitment to inter-disciplinary and inter-professional education and research. You will contribute to thedevelopment and delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education and to the Department’s developing activities.
You will be committed to excellent teaching and be motivated to provide the very best experience for students. Given the strengths of our current staff group we invite applications from those able to teach across a broad range of education. Experience of delivering programmes to international markets and/or of leading distance and semi-distance learning programmes would be welcome, as would expertise in one or more of the following areas: critical race studies in education; equalities and social justice; education policy; inclusive education, international development; comparative education; arts and learning; language and literacy. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) would also be an advantage.
The post holder will be expected to engage actively with team members, students, and other potential collaborators in sustaining innovative taught programmes. You will be research active and have a well-developed plan for future research and external engagement. Your research track record will include publications in leading journals, and you will have clear plans to network and collaborate at an international level. You will also have excellent teaching abilities and relevant administrative skills.
The post is indefinite subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period.
