Actual salary range: £25,468 - £35,187dependent on qualifications & experience

The Animal Care & Land-based department at Kirklees College is a high performing section. Learning and assessment in animal care takes place at the award-winning specialist animal care and environmental centre, Taylor Hill. The centre houses over 80+ species and includes aviaries, indoor and outdoor mammal units, reptile unit, aquarium, dog grooming unit and a small area housing livestock.
The successful candidate will have the ability to teach animal care to L3 and agriculture to L2. In your role you will be responsible for the effective teaching and management of a class and/or classes of students and to undertake other student contact activities, non-contact activities as required by the post. The post holder will also contribute significantly to the ongoing development of the curriculum and teaching in the section.
You’ll have a minimum Level 4 qualification or higher in Animal Care and demonstrable experience in the Animal Care /or industry and/or within an FE college. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
