Lecturer Cadet Education (Deck)
Warsash Maritime School is the home of one of the world’s leading institutes offering maritime education, training, research and consultancy to the marine & maritime industry.
As part of our continued growth the School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed maritime professional to join the expanding team within Cadet Education. We are looking to speak to applicants who will be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing an excellent learning experience for cadets that fully supports the student journey.
You will be responsible for teaching a range of subjects as required by the SQA, MCA and MNTB supporting our Deck Cadets and OOW students. We are particularly interested in speaking to people who have advanced knowledge of Stability and Ship Construction, Cargo Operations, Navigation, and Marine Surveying.
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of STCW Class 2 CoC (Deck) Unlimited from MCA, UK, with recent sailing experience. Alternatively, you will have extensive experience working as a Marine Surveyor or a Naval architect. Academic qualifications to degree level or an academic background with research or teaching experience is desirable, but not essential. We are committed to supporting the successful candidate in completing a Post Graduate teaching qualification and to developing their teaching skills as part of our teaching team.
