The Department of Law and Criminology (DLC) is looking for a Principal Lecturer to lead development of the Law subject group and to teach in this large and successful programme.
As Head of Law for the Department, you will have lead responsibility for managing and developing the law programmes and staff in the department.
You will be also expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the DLC and the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice (HKC), including teaching and related duties across the undergraduate law programme.
The Department of Law and Criminology comprises a diverse mix of colleagues with a broad range of academic and professional practice experience. The primary focus is on an applied curriculum, underpinned by strong theoretical knowledge, the development and application of research skills and the enhancement of graduate attributes.
You must have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to law.
You must also have the ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of stakeholders.
You will have a social justice or human rights focus to meet the values of the Helena Kennedy Centre, and experience of developing academic programmes, enhancing student applied experience and international work.
