Ashgate Primary School is seeking to recruit three experienced and highly skilled Learning Support Assistants (LSA).
Our school is a vibrant and forward-thinking school where the drive for high quality education is clear and where children are placed firmly at the centre of school life, direction and decision-making processes.
The school is situated on the outskirts of Derby city centre, with good transportation access by road and bus. It serves a diverse community of in the region of 300 children between the ages of 4 and 11, as well as their families. Ofsted last visit the school in 2018, when it was graded as good.
The role will be to support learning of groups and individuals with a wide range of academic, physical, social and emotional needs, as well as general support for wider learning activities. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the class teacher as well as independently assisting groups and individuals.
There are three positions available, one of which is focussed in Early Years and two in Key Stage 2. Age and year group allocation will be dependent on the strengths and experience of the successful applicant; however, a successful candidate would be required to have the skills, experience and capacity to work across the primary age range and may be deployed as such at any time.
Candidates will be required to have a good understanding and evidence of effective delivery in synthetic phonics and mathematics across the curriculum phases.
Candidates are expected to have the personal determination, commitment and the ambition to secure improved outcomes for children, as well as the energy to deliver high quality experiences in exciting and innovative ways. The successful candidate will have the personal and professional resilience to support children with a range of needs.
The position will commence as of September 2023 and is initially temporary until July 2024 Subject to future needs and capacity, the role may become permanent at a later stage.
