We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities in a variety of settings including residential, supported living and outreach services. If you have at least 6 months experience and looking to make a difference in care to adults with learning and physical disabilities, this is the role for you.

We need both male and female carers to support 2 major clients in the area, that have small sites. One site require a carer confident with medications and experienced working with epileptic service users. Some personal care may be needed and lone working. Another service is very quiet, with 3 residents. Duties will include lone working, serving dinner, medications, some personal care.

Temporary, flexible shifts are available to cover, including day shifts, waking nights and sleep-ins. Our clients offer inductions and shadow shifts to make sure you integrate smoothly the daily tasks and routines.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care, domestic tasks and housing related support
  • Providing boundaries and direction around positive behaviors
  • Promoting choice and independence
  • To support individual to live a life as full as possible and to engage with the community
  • Provide physical and emotional support, ensuring that respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience of providing care and/or support to vulnerable people
  • Possess excellent people skills
  • Have a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities
  • Be able to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Be able to demonstrate positive personal authority
  • Have great communication skills
