About your role
As Learning & Development Designer, you’ll scope, design and implement innovative and blended learning and development initiatives, deliver effective training programmes and make sure what we offer continues to deliver results in line with the needs of the business.
Where does your role fit in
This role sits within our small internal Learning & Development team and part of the wider HR function. You’ll be part of a talented team who together support the delivery of our overall learning and development strategy, people plan and support the delivery of functional plans by developing capabilities that allow us to drive our business goals.
This role will work with Senior Managers across the business and is pivotal in developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure buy in is gained and the success of our internal programmes is maximised.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Scope, design, deliver and evaluate a range of training initiatives and programmes, including leadership, soft skills, technical and knowledge-based solutions, as required by the business
- Design and deliver blended learning solutions to include eLearning content, screen cast, pod casts, face to face and online workshops and digital toolkits etc.
- Measure and evaluate the impact of the training provided, make improvements, and ensure programmes remain fit for purpose
- Support the delivery of the L&D strategy
- Manage Apprenticeships programmes within our business, to include 3rd party relationships, the onboarding of new suppliers and qualifications and maximising the return on our levy pot
- Manage 3rd party supplier’s workload request and ensure the services delivered are of the standard required by the business
- Deliver Train the Trainers to delivery teams to make sure they are upskilled appropriately, and skills and knowledge are transferred effectively to colleagues
- Develop innovative solutions that create commercial benefit for the business
- Identify areas of improvement and work with key stakeholders within the business to develop appropriate L&D solutions
- Make recommendations where needed for improvements and react to feedback
- Act as a liaison point and consult with Senior Managers/central teams to ensure training and development initiatives required to deliver functional plans achieve the required results
- Liaise with all levels of colleagues within the business
- Support the development and maintenance of career paths and opportunities for progression
- Support work-based learning programmes that are mapped to university qualifications, offering effective tutoring and accurate assessment of work
- Manage, maintain, and enhance our online learning platform to encourage an employee led learning environment
- To provide L&D support to the business as and when required
You will aim to achieve
- Effective delivery of the learning and development strategy in line with overall business strategy and objectives
Your knowledge and experience
- Strong learning & development experience, preferably within a multi-site Hospitality/Leisure/Retail sector, but not essential
- Experience in developing and facilitating a broad range of L&D solutions including but not limited to; management & leadership development, new product, system, regulatory and digital training for colleagues at all levels of the business
- Experience of leading learning and development initiatives to support cultural and business change, preferably in an Omni-channel business
- Proven experience in scoping, designing, developing and evaluating training programmes that drive engagement and a commercial benefit
