The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has been set up to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. It will take action like no other organisation previously in order to mitigate threats to health before they materialise. UKHSA will be a trusted source of advice to government and to the public.
As a Learning and Development (L&D) Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a learning and development programme to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees in the organisation. You will work closely with colleagues, and subject matter experts to understand the needs of the organisation and to develop a training programme that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.
Home based with approximately 1 day a month in the office - Office Location 17 Smith Square, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JR
Main Responsibilities- Conduct a training needs analysis to identify gaps in staff knowledge and skills
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs that address identified needs
- Develop learning objectives and instructional materials
- Support IMP to deliver training sessions in a variety of formats, including classroom, virtual, and blended learning
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training courses and make recommendations for improvement
- Partner with colleagues, and subject matter experts to identify and develop training courses that support business objectives
- Provide coaching and feedback to managers and employees to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in learning and development
- Collaborate with the L&D team to develop and implement learning and development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to training and development
- Manage projects related to learning and development as assigned
Essential Criteria
- Qualification / degree in Education, Human Resources, or a related field
- Proven experience as an L&D Consultant or similar role
- Experience developing and delivering training programs in a variety of formats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management system
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of GDPR, information governance and information management, or willingness to learn
- Experience of working in a government department
- Excellent time management skills
- A track record of following through on commitments
- A track record of supporting successful projects
- Ability to perform in a dynamic environment and overcome obstacles or resistance
- Constructive and collaborative team player
- Experience of working in an agile project delivery environment
