Are you an experienced coach or teacher and looking for a position where you can be proud and feel rewarded for contributing to student success? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to work with a team within the QAHE Pathway College embedded within Northumbria University. The Pathway College is focused on delivering a high-quality student experience to achieve academic success, to realise this aim we a seeking a passionate Learning Coach to join us.
A little more about the role: As a Learning Coach, you will contribute to the Student Support Team, analyse data and support students studying Level 3 programmes. In this role, your objective is to support them in managing their studies, working with the teaching team to provide support and empowering each student to reach their potential.
What you’ll get up to:
Planning, preparing and delivering intuitive one-to-one coaching sessions on various study skills and academic skills. Signpost students to relevant university services to help with acculturation, build relationships within the main campus support services in order to direct students to the appropriate departments. Carry out administrative duties where required, including data analysis and keeping accurate logs of interactions with students. Communicate with students at risk of self-withdrawal or programme termination. Ensure discretion and confidentiality regarding the communication with students. Work closely with the teaching team, module leads and programme leads to pro-actively identify trends and put support in place for at-risk students.

It is essential that you have a L6 qualification (bachelor’s degree or equivalent). A CELTA qualification or equivalent experience teaching international students would be highly valued. A coaching qualification or working towards one would be desirable.
A little more about us: QA Higher Education works in partnership with Northumbria University to manage and deliver an International Foundation Programme (IFP) an International Year One in Business and Pre Masters-Programmes in Business, Engineering and Computing. Successful completion of the IFP programmes allows entry onto a range of undergraduate programmes at the University. The International Year One allows entry into level 5. Pre Masters into a range of level 7 programmes.
