Salary: £36,298 - £41,496 per annum exclusive of local weighting allowance (pro-rata). A local weighting allowance of £1002 is also payable

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, flexible or hybrid working option available

Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join the Learning and Development / L & D team at Slough Borough Council, as a Learning and Development Specialist. You will play a pivotal role in upskilling and enabling all of our workforce. What you’ll be doing:
Providing a professional, effective, comprehensive HR training and development service to all our employees and managers. You will act as a business partner to our directorates, at all levels, building strong working relationships and an understanding of their needs. Create and deliver training and development solutions to address their training needs (within budget), providing a great service.
What you’ll have:
· A strong background in training
· Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating learning and development courses, initiatives etc.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to influence thinking
· The ability to engage with and influence stake holders at multiple levels
· To positively engage with a wide variety of audiences consistently and effectively
· Data analysis skills
· A good understanding of leading-edge learning and development theories and methods, with the ability to apply them in a large, complex organisation
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills using Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Previous experience of working in a council or the public sector would be useful, though not essential.
