This is an exciting time to be joining the Development and Alumni Engagement Team (DAE) at the University of Warwick. We’re entering the early planning stages of a new major philanthropic campaign, which will significantly scale the ambition for the University’s fundraising and engagement activity. To enable the campaign, have created a new team under the Head of Campaign Planning and Performance, along with additional roles across data and insight, alumni engagement, philanthropy and donor relations.
To support the team in this expansion, we’re looking for a new Learning and Development Officer, to help enhance our team culture by creating development opportunities for our team.
In this role you will plan, create and deliver learning and development opportunities that enable performance and retention across the team. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and line managers to ensure inductions, training and development opportunities support DAE in delivering our objectives.
As a team, we have a major role to play in helping break down barriers to education and advancing research addressing some of our planet's biggest challenges.
Our alumni and donor community creates lasting value in society and the economy through supporting students, research and facilities at Warwick.
With the objectives of increasing the active engagement of our alumni, students and staff communities and raising new and transformative funds in support of the University’s strategic philanthropic priorities, there is an enormous impact to be made.

Job Description
To plan, create and deliver learning and development opportunities that enable performance and retention within the Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide DAE team members with appropriate and cost-effective learning and development solutions including identifying, co-ordinating, designing, commissioning, advising on and/or delivering essential personal, technical, specialist, and induction training, as well as ongoing development, management and leadership opportunities.
2. To design, develop and deliver training materials, ensuring eLearning and blended approaches are utilised as far as possible to ensure cost effective and sustainable delivery. Ensuring the programme supports diverse learning requirements and styles.
3. Working with the senior leadership team and line managers to ensure provision is appropriate and covers the required skills knowledge and behaviours that support the delivery of departmental and University objectives. Working collaboratively across the department to define and agree priorities and timely delivery.
4. To support DAE project work aligned to development and talent agendas. To work with colleagues to support, co-ordinate and contribute to department wide organisational development events and activities such as recruitment campaigns, team meetings, aways days, conferences, and staff inductions. Ensure professional organisation and analyse and respond to feedback to enhance effectiveness.
5. To oversee the cost-effective delivery of an agreed programme of development and report on spend against plan and budget. Ensuring the collection and reporting of completion and impact data. To identify and propose external providers to deliver development opportunities and to commission agreed suppliers in line with University guidelines on procurement etc.
6. To identify, map, design and deliver all supporting training for DAE processes, to include associated performance and development processes.
7. To ensure all information relating to training needs, delivery and development and career/talent conversations is captured and, work with colleagues, to align recording processes to the functionality of the university processes. Ensuring the production of timely and accurate learning and development reports to monitor delivery and progress against targets, highlighting areas of concern, participant feedback and recommending appropriate action.
