We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Anglian Water Team as a Leadership Talent & Development Manager.

This role is part of the People Development Leadership Team and has overall accountability for creating and delivering Anglian Water’s organisational talent, leadership and development strategy. A key outcome of this is the creation of Leadership interventions to ensure we have a clear plans for our leaders and by extensions, our future skills, technical, professional, and strategic leadership development in a high-profile, media focused industry.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Talent and Leadership Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive talent and leadership strategy that addresses the unique challenges of the entire Group and entirely aligns with the Group's long-term goals and vision.
  • Skills Road Map and Career Pathways: Creation of a clear skills roadmap that covers technical, professional, and leadership development, at all levels and stages of career development, considering the industry's evolving needs, technological advancements. This will be communicated to employees across our business so that they have clarity, can see progression and opportunity and how their roles contribute to our current and future service offerings. It will take full account of our succession needs across the business.
  • Learning Solutions: Design and deliver blended learning solutions that cater to different learning styles and preferences, incorporating innovative methodologies and platforms. They will develop a specific set of training tactics as part of our workforce of the future strategy such that training is delivered in the most appropriate way (online, face to face, by third parties) and ensures that the underlying delivery tools and systems are in place to support value for money and high-quality delivery.
  • Performance Management: They will ensure that learning activities integrate our aspired culture and our performance management systems and that “feedback loops” will inform and improve both and shape development. They will provide robust yet flexible performance management processes that recognise employees' strengths, foster growth, and align with Anglian Water’s core values.
  • Coaching Culture: Foster an in-house coaching culture to support a high-performance environment, accountability, equipping managers, and leaders with the skills to provide effective feedback and development conversations.
  • Learning Innovation: Stay at the forefront of Learning and Development trends, constantly seeking innovative approaches, aware of the latest research and new technologies which offer best value for money and enhance the company's learning ecosystem.
  • Vendor Management and Stakeholder Management: Build strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the business to ensure that our training, development & leadership activities are delivering for their business priorities and organisational capabilities. Additionally, overseeing relationships with external learning vendors and suppliers to ensure the company has access to the latest learning tools and resources.
  • External Relationships: Ensure that external relationships with key stakeholders are maintained and that Anglian Water’s reputation as a high quality, leading provider of learning, continues to grow.
  • The quality of all our training: whether face to face or online, ensuring it is value for money, of exceptional quality, and, where appropriate, that it is accredited by the appropriate professional bodies.
  • The growth, development and leadership of an industry leading HR People Development Team. Building and developing a carefully assessed, professional and highly skilled team, whose members are recognised and respected across the business .
  • Developing team and external relationship building programmes for the Senior Teams and the Management Board. (This to be done in liaison with the Head of People Development).

  • Management/Training qualification
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams.
  • Experience in leading teams through change and transformation
  • Successful management of cultural transformation and change
  • Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Extensive experience in creating and implementing talent development strategies, leadership programs, and learning initiatives.
  • Experience with blended learning solutions, coaching, mentoring, and training methodologies
  • Embracing change, leading by example, and inspiring others to embrace cultural transformation.
  • Navigating challenges and setbacks with resilience and determination.
  • Working collaboratively across functions and departments to achieve common goals.
