The Opportunity
We're looking for a multi-disciplinary Lead Product Designer to lead the Dermatica brand. You should be comfortable working on UX research, UX design, visual design, and UX writing. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Clinical, and Operations teams to understand our customers, drive the product roadmap, and craft captivating experiences that boost engagement. You'll make significant contributions to a flagship B2C skincare brand that helps thousands of customers across the UK and the US every single day.
This is a one year fixed term contract starting in August 2023, with potential to extend or move into a permanent role with HeliosX depending on business and personal performance. The working arrangement will be hybrid, with the successful candidate based in the UK and able to commute to our Central London offices two times per week.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design efforts for Dermatica's core team, working closely with product and engineering managers to shape the future of our products.
  • Plan and execute discovery work, ensuring that our users remain at the heart of every decision we make.
  • Conduct in-depth user research to understand people's unique needs and behaviours, then synthesise key insights to drive our design strategy.
  • Bring your creative ideas to life by ideating user-centric solutions that not only address user needs but also align with our business objectives.
  • Craft compelling and accessible written content within our brand guidelines, to create meaningful experiences for our diverse user base.
  • Champion user testing sessions, validating design decisions and advocating for a seamless user experience.
  • Create high-fidelity designs based on our design system, and bring them to life with clickable prototypes (where appropriate).
  • Collaborate closely with our talented developers, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment throughout the implementation process.
  • Be a key player in our production experiments, leveraging data-driven insights to continually refine and enhance our designs, making a tangible impact on our users' lives.

What you'll bring to HeliosX

  • You have 8+ years experience in product design, with expertise in UX research, UX design, visual design, and UX writing.
  • You've worked on B2C digital products, ideally with large or international user bases.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates sound capability in discovery, UX design, and UI design.
  • You enjoy working in fast-paced startups and are comfortable taking the lead on things that you feel need to be done.
  • You work collaboratively with Product and Engineering colleagues to drive forward initiatives across multiple concurrent projects.
  • You're familiar with using design systems created in Figma. #LI-hybrid
