We have an incredible opportunity to join the True Learning Corporate Management Team. We’re at an exciting time in the on-going development and expansion of our Trust and the HR function which currently supports our existing schools: Disley Primary, Glossopdale School and Sixth Form, Hague Bar Primary, Lostock Hall Primary and Poynton High School.

The role sits on the Trust’s Corporate Management Team, working closely with the CEO, CFO and in future, the COO and each schools’ senior leadership teams, leading the vision, strategy and provision of a highly effective and professional HR service to our schools, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and alignment with the Trust Strategic Development Plan.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and provide direct line management for the Corporate Management HR team. We are looking for someone with a proven track-record in organisational improvement, strong leadership and performance management experience, creative problem-solving skills and relentless can-do attitude. Due to the stage the Trust is at in its development, the postholder will be required to be both strategic and operational.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience as either a Head of HR or HR Manager in delivering an HR function at both operational and strategic level.
  • A relevant HR qualification, e.g. CIPD (level 7) and/or significant current experience at this level.
  • A proven track-record in organisational improvement, strong leadership and performance management experience and creative problem-solving skills
  • A sound knowledge of employment law; HR practice and ideally education sector experience.
  • Be a collaborative and engaging leader.
  • A track record of delivering high standards of customer service, responding in an appropriately professional and empathetic manner to all stakeholders with HR queries. This includes both staff and senior leaders in all schools and also third parties such as trade union representatives and HR legal services.
  • Demonstrate and role model our values and those personal qualities we wish to see in all our staff and instill in our young people, including personal resilience, drive and initiative.
