Job Description
To lead, as the subject matter expert on data architecture management for NRW, defining the tools, standards, applications and processes that manage the flow, integrity and integration of NRW data assets. This is vital for delivering data integration required for the sustainable management of natural resources and maintaining integrity as data moves between applications and new applications are developed.
To lead NRW's corporate approach to defining and auditing data standards.
To contribute to development of NRW's Knowledge, Data and ICT Strategies and define the improvement and service plan for delivering NRW’s corporate approach to mastering of data assets.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:
Expert knowledge and experience of leading data modelling, data integration, data management and data quality at an enterprise/corporate level.
High level of technical expertise in managing tools and applications used for mastering and integrating data (e.g. enterprise modelling software, export transform and load tools, automated reporting tools, master storage solutions such as data warehousing or data pools/lakes).
Excellent project and program management skills and proven experience of delivering data or IT projects within time cost and outcome thresholds.
Experience of managing or delivering data or IT governance frameworks and processes; including chairing governance boards or task and finish groups. Understanding of governance within an ITIL framework would be an advantage.
Knowledge of the technology and policy developments that present opportunities or constraints to our approach to data quality, mastering, modelling and integration
Knowledge of current legal and industry standards and implementation and compliance in a data management context.
Understanding of risk management and experience of running IT or data change projects.
A good grounding in data, computer, natural or environmental science. A professional qualification would be an advantage. Member of relevant environmental, IT or data management profession is desirable but not essential.
