The Role:hush is looking for a Lead Creative (Maternity Cover) to play an integral part in delivering outstanding brand aesthetics and design for the brand. In this role, you will work closely with the Creative Director, supporting on both campaign and non-campaign concepts and processes; providing cover for the Creative Director when required. You will lead a team of creative designers in the best professional practises and behaviour.
You will be responsible for directing the look and feel of hush’s imagery; ensuring the hush handwriting and brand aesthetic is brought to life at every possible touch point. You will be proficient in briefing creative teams and presenting to the wider business and the Senior Leadership Team. Your team will produce all customer-facing brand visualisations, across hush channels, making sure that the communications are visually aligned and excellently executed.
We are looking for a ‘cool hunter’, who is not afraid to champion and implement new ideas. We want someone creatively curious and culturally aware to inspire the team and encourage creative development and research in both physical and digital references.
Responsibilities:- You will support the Creative Director in delivering the brand’s creative vision and partner with Marketing/Brand managers to ideate and deliver creative for multi-channel, acting as the 2nd in line and stepping up as required to cover campaign and art direction.
- You will produce initial art direction briefs, which can then be built out into campaigns across all channels.
- You will be responsible for coming up with brand elevating concepts, pitching, and presenting ideas to key stakeholders.
- You will work with the creative and broader marketing teams to explore the development of creative formats across new and existing channels such as social, video and events / pop-ups and concessions.
- You will ensure all online and offline creative meets the highest level of quality and adheres to marketing briefs and hush brand guidelines, whilst ensuring all design briefs are delivered to agreed deadlines.
- You will be responsible for managing the department budgets.
- You will promote a positive and collaborative environment for open feedback and constructive critique within the team, giving hands on coaching and encouraging creative development.
- 5 -8 years of commercial experience in a retail, fashion or ecommerce environment.
- Enthusiastic and motivated with excellent communication skills and an assured and articulate approach when presenting ideas.
- Skilled in creatively challenging a brief to ensure high quality work is produced.
- Have experience in art direction, design, commissioning, photography and casting.
- Digitally savvy with a combined love for all things print.
- Experienced in working with large production budgets.
- Knowledgeable in creative production processes working with photographers, directors, and external agencies.
- Have a strong creative eye, with the ability to tell stories across various mediums.
- Skilled in working with Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, HTML5, CSS and responsive web design.
- Strong understanding and experience with the creative process and how to evaluate creative output in design, art direction, and copy.
- Have a solution-focused approach with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Aware of current fashion creative and editorial trends, photography and graphic design across web, print and retail.
