An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to a Lead Commissioner post within the ASC Commissioning and Market Management Team. The post holder will be the Strategic lead for a portfolio of commissioning and contract management activity for a broad category area. Developing, shaping and ultimately being responsible for the delivery of an overarching work programme for that category.
This portfolio will be Care homes and Extra at the moment with line management responsibility for a number of Senior Commissioning Officers.
You will have been involved in transformation of services, be dynamic, creative, innovative and demonstrate leadership behaviours.
The key priorities for the role will be:
- Responsible for an area of commissioning spend up to the value of £20 million for a category area, ensuring services are commissioned and delivered within budget and reported to senior officers where required; including setting prices for commissioned services that provide the council with value for money at a market sustainable price.
- Management of key staff under the portfolio including Senior Commissioning Officers
- Responsible for identifying and implementing budget efficiency programmes through commissioned services and delivering required savings to support departmental and council efficiency targets
- Ensure strong working relationships are formed and maintained with Head of Service, other Lead commissioners, Quality officers, and the Brokerage team.
- Lead strategic commissioning and contract performance development, planning and activity for all sub category areas, responsible for developing the service area priorities, with the Senior Commissioning Officers and be accountable to HOS for delivery.
