SALARY: £56,421 - £62,690
LOCATION(S): Bristol, Harbourside
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Business Analyst to join the Finance Platform in the Inbound Triage team which operates from the Bristol hub in support of the Finance Labs across Bristol, London and Edinburgh.
This is a dynamic role working with the Finance Platform Labs, Business Design, and SMEs to analyse and manage Inbound demand into the Platform.
You’ll use your analysis skills to identify the business needs, analyse the requirements, and help craft the Finance response to Inbound Change initiatives with significant op model and design impacts.
Day to day you’ll be;
  • Leading the assessment of Inbound projects, initiatives and business problems, critically evaluating proposals from a Finance colleague, customer and commercial perspective.
  • Focussing on process improvements within the team to optimise working practices.
  • Facilitating management of the Inbound Change product backlog and the progression of assigned tickets.
  • Working with the Product Owners, Business Design and the Delivery teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements, timescales and prioritisation.
  • Engaging beyond the Platform with project delivery colleagues from the originating business areas, leading and facilitating the dialogue between the Business and Finance to successfully interlock each new initiative.
  • Negotiating the transfer of initiatives into the Labs for onward delivery.
  • Providing domain knowledge and analysis capability throughout to ensure effective assessment and partnering with the Finance Labs and Divisional and Functional Finance teams.
About us
We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.

What you’ll need
  • You’ll be dynamic and adaptable with the ability to use and learn new skills and apply knowledge in varying circumstances.
  • Great communication skills – to allow you to distil key information from sometimes quite complicated projects, and clearly convey this information to colleagues in Finance and beyond.
  • Experience in Facilitation – to be able to lead presentations and other meetings with a variety of different teams and colleagues, from SMEs through to Senior Management.
  • Be highly organised to handle triage of several different projects at once, allocating time appropriately and ensuring that all projects receive the appropriate level of service.
  • Skilled negotiator, analytical thinker and problem solver, with ability to ensure all parties feel understood and are satisfied with outcome.

And any experience of these would be really useful
  • Understanding of analysis and architecture methodologies and techniques and their practical application.
  • Exposure to systems thinking, scrum and agile change delivery.
  • Modelling - developing, defining & documenting ‘As Is’ & ‘To Be’ process models and data definitions.
  • Evidence of building and using internal and external networks to source data and information to enable timely recommendations and advice.
  • Engaging and influencing partners, anticipating, clarifying and shaping requirements for the purpose of optimising business outcomes.
  • Experience of motivating, mentoring and developing fellow team members to build a high performing team.
