We’re a leading (and growing), independent lawn care company based in Horley, operating in east Surrey, West Sussex and east Kent. We are looking for an experienced full time Lawn Technician, who will be rewarded with above average industry pay, a great bonus scheme, generous holiday allowance, ongoing development opportunities and use of a van for commuting and work.
What’s involved:
You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional service to your designated customers. Working to a defined schedule using company app on your supplied phone, you will expertly apply fertiliser, weed and moss treatments, through to aeration, scarification, overseeding and top-dressing services during spring and autumn. You’ll also be confident taking the lead on lawn renovations, either flying solo or as part of a small team.
You’ll need to identify lawn issues and find solutions, as well as advising, recommending, and selling additional services or necessary lawn care improvements – both during new customer lawn surveys and ongoing visits. Your high standards will ensure your van, machinery and equipment are kept clean and tidy.
What we need from you:
- Recent experience (3+ years) of professional lawn care, greenkeeping or sports turf care is a must. This must include proven experience of fertiliser and selective herbicide application with knapsacks, boom sprayers and pedestrian spreaders, use of scarifiers, aerators and mowers.
- PA1/PA6 Certification
- Excellent customer facing skills, with good verbal and written communication
- High standards of care and attention to detail in all aspects of the job
- A full, clean UK driving licence for manual vehicles, with an excellent driving
- record
- The ability to identify lawn conditions or problems and provide solutions
- Comfortable to work alone, outside and in all weather conditions
- Reliability and flexibility – such as willingness to work additional hours in
- seasonal peaks
- A trustworthy, friendly and collaborative approach in line with our company values
- Must be presentable with excellent organisation and timekeeping skills
- A good level of fitness, due to the physical nature of the role
- A genuine desire to learn, as training and career progression is encouraged
- To live within a 30-minute drive of Horley, Surrey in rush hour traffic
